Not at all! Many of our members start as complete beginners. Our "Beginner" and "All Levels" classes teach fundamental technique from the ground up. We break down strikes, footwork, and defensive movements step-by-step, ensuring you learn safely and properly.
Regular classes are non-contact – you'll work on pads, bags, and technical drills. This makes it safe and accessible while still delivering authentic Muay Thai training. For interested members, we offer optional controlled sparring sessions with proper protective equipment under close supervision.
For your first classes, we provide everything – gloves, shin guards, and hand wraps. If you continue training, we recommend purchasing your own hand wraps ($10-15) for hygiene. Many members eventually buy their own gloves and shin guards, but we always have equipment available.
Muay Thai is one of the most effective workouts for fat loss and overall fitness! A typical class burns 700-900 calories while building lean muscle, improving cardio, and developing power. The combination of striking drills, pad work, and conditioning creates an incredibly effective workout.
Yes! Muay Thai is one of the most effective striking martial arts for self-defense. You'll learn powerful strikes, clinch work, and defensive techniques that are proven in real situations. The confidence, awareness, and physical skills you develop translate directly to self-defense capability.
Possibly, but please speak with Diego before class. Proper technique and gradual progression actually strengthen your legs and joints. However, certain conditions may require modifications. Our coaches can suggest appropriate modifications or alternative training methods if needed.
