Front of House / Jiu Jitsu Coach
I’ve been part of the fitness industry for over 20 years, and it’s a space that continues to challenge and inspire me every day. My journey with Industrial Fitness began back in 2014 as a member. I joined the team in 2015, took a two-year break to live in Canada, and returned to New Zealand 7.5 years ago with a renewed commitment to the community here in Queenstown.
From 2018 through to early 2025, I worked as the Fitness Centre Manager and stepped into the role of General Manager in May 2025. I’m proud to help lead a team and a facility that genuinely cares about its members, supports growth, and continues to evolve. Personally, I’ve always loved pushing my own limits—whether it’s competing in bodybuilding, racing HYROX, or taking on 10Ks and half marathons. My wife and I have been travelling the world together since 2010, and that journey has helped shape the way I view health and fitness: not just as a performance goal, but as a foundation for living fully and with purpose.
Now as a proud dad of a young son and daughter, my passion for health and fitness has taken on even greater meaning. I believe in training not just for yourself, but for your family too— so you can show up strong, present, and capable for the people who matter most. At Industrial, I’m focused on building a space that welcomes all levels, where people can train hard, feel part of something, and leave each day a little better than they arrived.
Originally from Cambridge, England, I’ve spent the past 8+ years living in the Northern Hemisphere, exploring different training methods and refining my approach to health and fitness. I specialise in powerlifting, Hyrox conditioning, strength and hypertrophy training, as well as weight management – whether that’s building lean muscle or shedding unwanted body fat.
I’ve competed in both powerlifting meets and Hyrox races, so I understand what it takes to push limits and perform under pressure. I also bring a unique edge to my coaching from my time as a chef – combining practical food knowledge with effective nutrition advice to help clients build sustainable habits that support their goals.
My approach is friendly, down-to-earth, and focused on helping you become the strongest version of yourself – physically and mentally. Whether you’re just starting out or want to break through a plateau, I’m here to guide you with personalised support and proven training methods.
“Don’t compare yourself with others. It’s you vs you.”

I’m a Muay Thai fighter and coach with nearly 20 years of experience and over 50 fights across Muay Thai, MMA, and amateur boxing.
I lived and fought in Thailand for 3 years, traveling across the country, surviving the hardest training camps, and competing in major events. I’ve coached and fought throughout Asia — including China, Cambodia, Malaysia, Vietnam, and Hong Kong — as well as in Brazil, Spain, and New Zealand.
I train students of all levels — from total beginners to professional fighters — and I combine real fight knowledge with physical preparation to help people reach their best version.
I was born in South Africa and grew up playing every sport I could. Along the way, I found my true passion in Muay Thai — coaching, fighting, and sharing the art with others. This passion eventually took me to Hong Kong, where I had the incredible opportunity to coach and pass on what I’d learned.
While living in Hong Kong, I discovered a new love for CrossFit and Olympic weightlifting, and I went on to compete across Asia in both disciplines. These experiences shaped my approach to training and coaching today.
Now, I focus on helping others through a balanced approach that includes Functional Training, CrossFit, Hyrox, Muay Thai, and Boxing. Whether you’re looking to improve your fitness, learn a new skill, or push your limits in competition, I’d love to be part of your journey and help you reach your goals.
Hi, I’m Gillian, a personal trainer passionate about helping people unlock their physical potential.
I specialise in powerlifting, running-specific programs, HYROX event prep, and functional training that builds real world strength, athleticism, and resilience.
Training with me is about more than just sets and reps- it’s about progress, purpose, and enjoying the process. I believe fitness should be fun, challenging, and something you look forward to, not dread.
Living in Queenstown has brought me a love of trail running, hiking, snowboarding and biking. These outdoor adventures inspire the way I train myself and others. Yes, it’s great to look good, but there’s no better feeling than being strong, confident, and excited by what your body can DO.
Let’s train hard, move well, and have fun doing it.
With a background in professional sport and a passion for health and fitness, I’ve built a career helping others achieve their goals. After studying Personal Training and Exercise Prescription at the Sports Institute of Otago, I’ve worked across gyms and health clubs in New Zealand and Australia, training a wide range of clients—from everyday individuals to regional, national and professional teams and athletes.
My own athletic journey includes representative-level competition in multiple sports and a professional Rugby League career with the Sydney Roosters and the Burleigh Bears in Australia. Although injury ended my time at the elite level, it fuelled my commitment to coaching and inspiring others through fitness.
Nowadays my passion for sport, health and Fitness and love of training is focused on helping people in transforming and achieving their health and fitness goals, from health based to elite level.
I am also a Personal training tutor/mentor for the New Zealand Institute of Health and Fitness
